Spring Break and Easter Fun

We had such a fun and busy Spring Break. I kept Abby quite busy! We started off with her Easter party at school which was SOO cute! She had so much fun finding eggs with her friends and making crafts with her teachers, Ms. Kathy and Ms. Lisa.. The week went on with a trip to the Children's Museum, Gymnastics, the park, Pump it Up, fishing, out to eat many times, and off to Great Grandma Laura's house in Blanco, Texas.. Stephen's entire family was there for the Annual Easter Egg Hunt and fun with Abby's cousin's, Ashley and baby Morgan!

JOHNNY ROCKETS

This past weekend, Stephen and I took Abby out to dinner to Johnny Rockets. For those of you who don't know, Johnny Rockets is one of those 50s Diners that is soo cute. We have one right by our house and we were in the mood for a hamburger. Abby loved it. The waiters and waitresses line dance around the restaurant every 30 minutes so guess who was dancing too, ABBY! Anyway, I took a picture of Abby and Stephen when we got there! Love this pic!

RODEO DAY HOUSTON!!!!!

For those of you who don't know, Houston has the LARGEST indoor Rodeo in the United States! It starts the very end of February with a BBQ cook off and carnival and then continues for 3 weeks with some of the largest country acts performing each night! And, of course, Hannah Montana! I thought the Mississippi Rodeo was big... ummm.. no! This event is HUGE! Another big event that happens is Rodeo Day. Each school has Rodeo Day where you wear your western outfit and have fun activities all day! Well, today is Rodeo Day at Abby's school! Here she is before I took her this morning! A TRUE TEXAN! Boy is her daddy proud!

Hanging out with Aubrie!

Mondays around our house are always so much fun! I take Abby and our neighbor, Aubrie, to preschool on Mondays and Wednesdays! But on Monday, after I pick them up from preschool, Aubrie comes to our house to play! Today it was rainy and cold outside so I put in Cinderella III in, popped some popcorn, and made some Kool-Aid!! They thought it was so much fun.. And after that, Abby wanted to "try" to play Connect 4! HA! Thanks for coming to play Aubrie!

Our 2 week trip to Mississippi and DISNEY WORLD

Abby and Cinderella
Abby twirling for Cinderella

Wow! After 2 weeks of being away, I was ready to get back to Texas! We started our vacation heading to Mississippi. My parents were so excited to see us! The next morning, Abby spent the day with my mom and dad while I traveled to Hattiesburg for the day. My friend Robin had a Sip N See for her new baby girl, Ava! It was great visiting with all of my college friends and seeing Robin! Robin was my college roommate and my Maid of Honor in my wedding! I am so glad I got a chance to visit with and meet baby AVA! After the shower, I headed back home and the next day was the RODEO! The Rodeo is a tradition in my family! We had had the same FRONT ROW seats every since I was a little girl! Abby loved seeing all the horses and was so excited every time they came out of the shute.. I think that is how you spell it. She even got to ride a pony! We also visited with friends and Abby met a new friend named Emma Beckwith! Cindy, thank you for having us over for a playdate! My parents kept Abby pretty busy all week! With playing at Gattitown, shopping, feeding the chickens, playing with Trigger the dog, and staying up extra late, we were pretty worn out.. but... DISNEY was just a few days away! Abby and I said goodbye to my parents and hopped on a plane to Orlando! We were both missing daddy! Stephen was already in Orlando for a business trip! I did pretty good traveling by myself with Abby, stroller, 3 carry ons and 3 big suitcases, getting the luggage off the Baggage Claim, catching a cab, checking in the hotel, etc.. all by myself!

We arrived in Orlando and went straight to our hotel, THE PORTOFINO, which was located on the UNIVERSAL STUDIOS grounds. Stephen's convention was held nearby so we stayed here instead of Disney! I tackled Universal Studios by myself the first 2 days while Stephen was working! We rode ET ( which scared her to death), played with Scooby Doo and Friends, Shrek, when to WhooVILLE, but best of all, Abby got to see BARNEY! WOW... she was in Heaven! After 2 days of Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and the City Walk, we moved over to our new hotel near Magic Kingdom for a few days of Disney! Thanks goodness Stephen was with me this time! It was pretty tough carrying a 2 year old around everywhere alone!! Magic Kingdom was the highlight of our trip! All Abby cared about doing was meeting Cinderella! We had 2 scheduled dinners with Cinderella, Prince Charming, the Wicked Stepmother and her 2 step sisters! This was so much fun! Abby was in heaven!!! I think she dreamed of Cinderella the entire time we were at Disney. We met almost all of the characters, but Abby was not to thrilled about them getting close enough to snap a picture, so the majority of our pics are with Cinderella! The highlight was eating with her at the Castle! We got to go upstairs at the castle for the ROYAL BALL! I have video of Abby and Cinderella dancing, hugging, twirling, etc! She loved the rides, especially Peter Pan's Flight, Pooh Bear's Adventure and It's a Small world.. I think we rode those 3 rides MANY times!!! I had such a wonderful time and can't wait to go again!! Enjoy a few of our pics!!!

Tomorrow, we leave for Mississippi for a short stay and then off to DISNEY WORLD! We fly out of Houston Hobby Airport at 4:50 and will arrive in Jackson at 6:00. This weekend, I will be attending a shower for my friend Robin and then Abby will be attending her first RODEO on Sunday night! On the 14th, Valentine's Day, Abby and I will be flying to Orlando to meet Stephen. Stephen had to go a few days early for work.. I wonder if he will go to Magic Kingdom before we get there??heheheh?? I don't know who is more excited, me or Abby!!! We have 2 dinners planned with Cinderella and 1 breakfast at the Cape May Cafe' with Mickey and Friends. Be sure to check out our post when we return on the 19th for our Adventures at Disney World!!!

I'VE BEEN TAGGED!!!

Ok.. here are 7 things you may not know about me!

1. I can't stand dishes in the sink.. I don't know how many times we wash dishes each day, but it is alot!
2. I love COFFEE! I am addicted to Ooh La La's Classic Turtle Latte. My car just turns into their parking lot every morning!
3. I am deathly afraid of heights! I can't even get into my own attic! My heart starts beating VERY fast!
4. I am a schedule freak! I like to have things pre-planned. I think that is the teacher in me. I like to know what I am going to be doing for the entire week! I used to write it all down and I had post it notes everywhere!!! Now that I quit teaching and am now home, I quit doing that and I am getting much better. If I am a little late somewhere or miss something, who cares!
5. I talk to my mother EVERYDAY! We talk first thing in the morning and at night!
6. I met my husband while we were walking our dogs! We also discovered we were neighbors in our apartment complex! We were spoiled living next door to each other!
7. I am left handed! That always surprises people! Watch me write on a chalkboard or dry erase board and you sure can tell!!
Now I tag, Alyssa, Cori, and Stacey!

A VISIT FROM MAMAW!!

Stephen had to go on a business trip to Denver this week so my mom decided to come and visit! My parents still live in MS so we try to see each other once a month so Abby is able to spend time with them. That is probably the hardest part about living away from home.. not getting to see my parents and Abby not getting to spend time as much time with them as I would like. But,when they do see each other, we always have so much fun! We, of course, went on a TOY shopping spree and had a fun time at RAINFOREST CAFE!! Mom, thank you for coming to spend the week with us! We miss you already! WE love you and will see all of you next month!
